Easingwold and District over Fifties Forum has been providing a voice for older people over the last 15 years and has built up a reputation for a measured response to issues that arise.
The Forum has held regular meetings with senior officials from Social Care, Healthwatch, the Clinical Commissioning Group and Local Council Officials the meeting have been an opportunity for members to question these officials directly and this is seen as a major part of the Forums purpose.
For the last Election we organised for the Area, a Hustings meeting which was attended by all the Candidates and over 200 people. The event was chaired by the BBC’s Len Tingle
The event was very successful.
In June we organised an Eng-Age event at the Galtres Centre and over 20 local organisations attended to inform local people of the services available for older people in the area. Over 100 people attended and the feedback was very positive. The event was made possible by National Lottery Funding.
All this activity would not be possible without a team of dedicated members who form the committee.
